Activities and Outings
The ultimate introduction to Morocco has to be our ever-popular "Real Morocco" holiday - a combination of outings and time to yourself, suitable for everyone. Including:
Within half an hour:
the foothills of the High Atlas Mountains where we are involved in community projects in Berber villages
an oasis on the edge of the ancient Anti Atlas Mountains
Within 1.5 hours:
the spectacular Tiz n Test Pass– with trekking option
a gorge in the Anti Atlas Mountains– with trekking option
a valley deep in the High Atlas
the Atlantic Coast and/or the Souss Massa National Park- ideal wildlife, especially birds

Trekking - High Atlas Mountains - near OuirganeWe can arrange for one of 3 reliable and knowledgeable English speaking guides to take you trekking and walking in places off the normal tourist routes:
around Ouirgane in the High Atlas near Marrakech, an area is well known for its beauty, located on the road to the famous Tiz N Test Pass, yet away from the main tourist honeypot for trekkers at Mt Toubkal, where we can also arrange treks on request (1- 5 days)
in the verdant valleys of the Western High Atlas near Taroudant (1-4 days).
in the volcanic Jbel Sirwa, 2 hours E of Taroudant (4-7 days only).
You can choose walks according to your level of fitness and preferences into the Toubkal National Park, onto the plateau or through the spectacular Nfis gorges. One of the guides even has a degree in English!

All treks are tailor made to the party's needs: easy, moderate or strenuous. Your bags (or you if need be!) are carried on mules on all overnight treks and routes can either be kept mainly to the valleys for the less fit or over high level routes including, in summer, Djebel Toubkal (at 4167 m, North Africa's highest peak) for those who are very fit. Snow and ice makes the summit of Toubkal unsuitable for walking for most of the year.

The price of the trek includes:
private taxi transfer to and from Marrakech - approx 1 hour each way (if starting/finishing elsewhere we can arrange for a taxi at the end of your trek)
an experienced and knowledgeable English-speaking guide
simple tasty traditional food (lunch in a Berber house on day treks, all meals on longer treks)
a guidance sheet on preparing for the trek
if your trek is more than a day long, accommodation in simple Berber houses (on the longer treks houses may lack electricity, proper beds and taps, but there will be water!) and mule(s) to carry your bags
